Kids' Artwork on a Casserole Dish: The Christmas Gift Grandparents Treasure

Every family has a stack of drawings somewhere: a crayon portrait of grandpa with a giant smile, a rainbow over a house, a cat that looks a bit like a horse. They are some of the most precious things a child makes, and some of the first to get lost. This Christmas, you can turn one of those drawings into a gift grandma and grandpa will use and treasure for years: an engraved casserole dish.

Why grandparents love it

  • It is made by the grandkids. The design is their drawing, line for line, so the gift really comes from them.
  • It gets used. A baking dish comes out for Sunday dinners, holidays and family visits, and every time it starts a conversation.
  • It lasts. Engraving does not wash off or fade like a print. It becomes a family heirloom.

Three ways families personalize it

1. A child's drawing

The most popular choice. A portrait of grandma, a family of stick figures, or a favorite animal. Add a short line under it, for example "Love, Mia, age 5". See the Kids Artwork Casserole Dish.

2. A family photo

We turn a photo into a line portrait and engrave it on the dish. Great for a photo of all the grandchildren together. See the Custom Portrait Casserole Dish.

3. A handwritten recipe

Grandma's own handwriting from an old recipe card, engraved exactly as she wrote it. Read our guide to turning a family recipe into a keepsake.

How to photograph a drawing so it engraves well

  • Choose a drawing with clear, dark lines. Marker and crayon work better than light pencil.
  • Place it flat in daylight, photograph from straight above, no flash.
  • Crop out the table and background; fill the frame with the drawing.
  • Upload the JPEG or PDF in the photo box on the product page. You can also send it later by email or WhatsApp.

We clean up the background so only the child's lines remain, then email you a proof before production. Nothing is engraved until you approve it.

Make it a family project

Ask the kids to draw something especially for grandma or grandpa this year: "draw what you love to eat at grandma's house" works wonderfully. Have several grandchildren? Message us before ordering and we will tell you what fits on one dish.

Christmas order deadlines

Each dish is made to order in our workshop in İzmir, Turkey. During the holidays production takes 1–3 business days and FedEx delivers in 1–3 business days. Order by December 15 (US) or December 10 (other countries) for delivery before Christmas. Shipping is free and US duties are already paid.
